Dr. Sandra Fastlicht earned her Dental Degree from the Universidad Tecnologica de Mexico and Postgraduate Orthodontic Specialty and Master’s Degree in Orthodontics from the Universidad Intercontinental Mexico. 
 

She practiced privately in Mexico City, before relocating to Vancouver where she practiced privately and became a Clinical Associate Professor in Orthodontics at the University of British Columbia. 
 

In 2011, Dr. Fastlicht pursued an Orthodontic Fellowship in Cleft Lip and Palate and other Craniofacial Anomalies at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).
 

Following her Fellowship, she worked as an Orthodontic Consultant and Project Lead for the non-profit organization Transforming Faces, where she designed, managed, and taught courses for professionals treating patients with cleft lip and palate in South America and South East Asia. 
 

Her academic contributions include published works and lectures in the areas of sleep apnea, cleft lip and palate, and craniofacial anomalies. 
 

In addition to her commitment to Planet Smile For Kids, Dr. Fastlicht is currently the Medical Director of Comunicabo Foundation in San José del Cabo, Mexico, and serves as an advisor on the Board of Directors of Simulare Medical, a division of Smile Train.
