Dr. Karen Wong completed her residency training at the University of Toronto, followed by fellowships at the Hospital for Sick Children and the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan.

Additionally, she holds a PhD in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University.

Dr. Wong is a Surgeon-Scientist specializing in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, with a clinical focus on cleft surgery and microsurgery.

She serves as the Director of the Cleft Lip and Palate Program at the Hospital for Sick Children, and is cross-appointed to the Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation (IHPME) at the University of Toronto. As the Quality Improvement Coordinator in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, she leads division-wide Morbidity and Mortality Rounds.
